Shanti Journal
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Shanti Journal (the “Application”) handles journal content and other information. The developer is Suying Li; the Google Play publisher name is Lumi Digital.
1. Journal Content and Device Permissions
The Application lets you create text, voice, and video journal entries and add photos, tags, and descriptions. When you choose these features, the Application may request access to your camera, microphone, or photo library to create or attach the content you select.
- Your journal content is encrypted and stored locally on your device.
- Your journal content is not uploaded to a developer-operated server.
- Suying Li and Lumi Digital cannot view or retrieve your locally stored journal entries.
2. Accounts, Password Access, and Local Deletion
The Application does not require registration or sign-in and does not create a server account. You can enable an access password so that opening the Application requires verification.
You control locally stored entries. You can delete individual entries in the Application. Tree Hole entries can be set to delete automatically after 7 days or 30 days, or to remain until you delete them. “Gone with the Wind” provides a dedicated way to delete an entry.
3. Firebase Analytics
The Application uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage and improve the Application. Firebase Analytics may process device and app information, app interaction and usage events, language and technical information, and identifiers that are available under your device settings and permissions. We use this information to understand how features are used and to improve reliability and usability. Journal text, recordings, videos, and photos are not sent to Firebase Analytics.
4. Firebase Crashlytics
The Application uses Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and technical problems. Crashlytics may process crash logs, app and operating-system versions, device state, diagnostic information, and identifiers associated with a crash report. We use this information to maintain stability and fix errors. Crash reports do not include your journal content.
5. Google AdMob and Personalized Advertising
The Application is free and displays personalized Google AdMob banner advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, IP address and coarse location derived from it, device and app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic information for ad delivery, personalization, frequency control, fraud prevention, and measurement.
6. ATT, IDFA, AAID, and Consent Choices
On iOS, the Application uses Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before accessing the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for tracking. If you deny permission, the Application does not access the IDFA for tracking. You can change this choice in iOS Settings.
On Android, Google services may use the Android Advertising ID (AAID). You can reset or delete the advertising ID and manage ad privacy settings through your Android device settings.
As of the Last Updated date, the Application has not integrated Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) or another consent management platform (CMP). ATT and device settings do not replace any additional consent required by applicable regional law.
7. Third-Party Processing and Sharing
Google processes information for AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics under its own terms and privacy documentation. The Application does not share your locally stored journal content with Google. Learn more:

8. Data Retention and Deletion
Local journal content remains on your device until you delete it or a Tree Hole retention setting deletes it. Because the Application has no server account and does not upload journal content, there is no developer-held journal database or account to delete.
Information processed by Google services is retained according to Google’s policies, the relevant service settings, and applicable law. For questions or requests concerning the developer’s use of analytics, diagnostic, or advertising data, contact us using the email below.
9. Security
Journal content is encrypted while stored locally on your device, and optional password access helps prevent unauthorized opening of the Application. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Keep your device, operating system, and access credentials secure.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Application is not directed to children. We do not knowingly use the Application to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through a connected third-party service, contact us so we can review the issue.
11. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can delete local journal entries in the Application, change ATT permission in iOS Settings, and manage advertising identifiers and ad privacy settings through your device. You may contact us with privacy questions or requests concerning information processed on behalf of the developer.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the Application, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
